COMPACTA RACK OVEN GRANTED 'MILLENNIUM PRODUCTS' STATUS

Oven manufacturers Tom Chandley Limited were delighted when their 'Compacta Rack' oven designed with Marks & Spencer's in-store bakeries was granted 'Millennium Products' status. The news was announced by the Secretary for Trade and Industry, Steven Byers, in London on Monday 19 April. The exclusively designed oven was developed in conjunction with Marks & Spencer to safely load and unload trays of freshly baked products in and out of the oven without the operator coming into contact with the hot trays. Eric Dyson, Managing Director of Chandley's says "this is an excellent achievement for our company and is a result of our philosophy of designing new products with our customers needs in mind. We are now hoping that as a Millennium Product, the Compacta Rack will be selected for inclusion in the Millennium Dome". Andrew Summers, Design Council Chief Executive said "I am delighted that the Compacta Rack has been announced as a Millennium Product and is going to form part of our collection of the most innovative products and services created in Britain for the new Millennium".

TOP AWARD FOR PROCLEAN AT FOOD & BAKE 2000

Food and Bake 2000 proved to be a great success for oven manufacturers Tom Chandley Limited. The launch of the ProClean Automatic Oven Cleaning System at the exhibition gained the title 'best new equipment for use in a retail bakery/outlet' at the Food and Bake 2000 Awards Dinner. The ProClean system soaks, rinses and dries the oven automatically, ready for the next bake without the operator being present or having to scrub the oven. The ProClean programme is stored in the computerised oven controls and allows the cleaning to take place at any time during the day or night selected by the operator. "We are extremely pleased with the positive response to the ProClean system" says Martin Dyson, Sales Director. "Winning the Award has confirmed our belief that this product will be welcomed in all baking environments, not only to improve hygiene standards but also as a labour-saving device!". The ProClean system is available on all Chandley's convecta tc 4 and 8 tray models.

HYGIENE AWARD FOR TOM CHANDLEY COMPACTA OVEN

Tom Chandley were guests of honour at the 1998 Food Hygiene awards held at the International Exhibition Centre in Telford. Entries were welcomed from all companies in the UK dealing with the food industry and Chandley's nominated the double fronted Compacta deck oven developed for customer, R&K Wise Limited. Amongst the many other entries was a hand washing station, a germ-resistant conveyor belt and Sainsbury's Microban products.

The Compacta double fronted oven was certainly very topical as it was devised to ensure that raw products do not come into contact with cooked foods preventing cross contamination of bacteria such as e-coli. R&K Wise are now able to load from one side of the oven and remove the cooked product in an isolated area on the other side of the oven.

During the proceedings Tom Chandley Limited was presented with the acclaimed Finalists Certificate for the Food Processing and Manufacturing category.

PPMA 1999 AWARD FOR CHANDLEY COMPACTA RACK OVEN

Tom Chandley's Compacta Rack oven with its modified loading system, designed exclusively for Marks & Spencer has won another award! Not long after the announcement was made that the Compacta Rack oven had been granted Millennium Products status, the PPMA (Process and Packaging Machinery Association) awarded Chandley's a Certificate of Merit in their annual Awards of Excellence.

PPMA 2000 AWARD FOR PROCLEAN

Tom Chandley has been awarded the PPMA (Processing and Packaging Machinery Association) Certificate of Merit at the Annual Awards of Excellence for their ProClean system. Chandley's have introduced the unique ProClean system to the UK. ProClean is a fully automatic oven cleaning system designed for the busy bakery or retail outlet where time is at a premium and hygiene is top priority.

The ProClean system soaks, rinses and dries the oven automatically, ready for the next bake without the operator being present or having to scrub the oven. The ProClean programme is stored in the computerised oven controls and allows the cleaning to take place at any time during the day or night selected by the operator.

This is the second award that ProClean has earned this year. Earlier in the year ProClean was given the title 'best new equipment for use in a retail bakery/outlet' at the Food and Bake 2000 awards held at the NEC in March.

The ProClean system is available on Chandley's convecta tc-4, convecta tc-8 and convecta tc-combi ovens.
