New Convecta
TC-3 Ovens For Grout's Bakeries
Tom Chandley's latest oven has been designed specifically
for small bakery and retail outlets. The convecta tc-3
is a compact 60cm x 57cm and is designed to be placed
in full view of customers, maximising the opportunity
of impulse purchases.
A convecta tc-3 oven has recently
been installed in two of BB Grout Limited's chain of
outlets. Although the family-run business bake all their
own bread and confectionery products at their main bakery
site in Canvey Island, this time using Tom Chandley
Deck ovens, Managing Director, Noel Grout, still wanted
to add to the ambience at each of his 9 shops.
"We have placed the convecta tc-3
ovens front of house to tempt customers with the sights
and smells of freshly baked baguettes, petit pains,
cookies and a range of savouries including pies, pasties
and our ever-popular sausage roll" says Noel Grout.
Customers are able to view the products baking through
the double-glazed door, which remains at safe surface
temperatures preventing the risk of burning to staff
or customers.
The convecta tc-3 also incorporates
its own steaming system and was a key factor in Noel
Grout's selection of ovens for his premises. "The steaming
system is used to create the crusty finish on all our
baguettes and petit pain" explained Mr Grout.
A bonus for companies making their
first step into the bake-off market is the fact that
the steam system does not require plumbing. The oven
can be supplied as 'manual fill' which allows the water
to be topped up by hand. This, combined with the simple
power requirements of a 13 amp socket, allows the convecta
tc-3 to be repositioned within a bakery or retail outlet
as many times as required.
Although small in size the convecta
tc-3 holds 3 (44cm x 35cm) trays and can bake up to
42 bread rolls in one batch. As well as lunchtimes,
Grout's have found that there are also variable busy
periods throughout the day. The convecta tc-3 allows
staff to tailor production to customer demands by baking
small batches of product as often as required.
