Peak Café,
Hong Kong
A purpose-built Endura oven is featured at the heart
of one of Hong Kong’s most fashionable eating places.
The eaterie is located at the end of a funicular railway
which carries visitors to the Victoria Peak, one of
the highest vantage points on Hong Kong Island. The
500-seat restaurant is part of the £2.1m development
known as the Peak Galleria, which recreates the Art
deco style of the 1930’s.
The Endura’s olde worlde styling
which includes cast iron doors and brass hinges and
fittings, is designed to reflect the character of one
of the very first solid fuel ovens, behind which lies
the latest in modern oven technology. The Peak Café
chose a two tray, two-deck double oven that incorporated
a mock fire-box, fronting the electronic solid state
controls that offer independent temperature control
of each deck.
